Joe Wicks MBE (aka The Body Coach) is on a mission to inspire at least one new person every day to exercise. But one of the biggest excuses he hears every day is “I don’t have time to exercise”. Inclusive, equipment-free, home-workouts are the heart of Joe’s offering. The Body Coach team was looking for a new and accessible way to deliver Joe’s workouts. They needed a solution which could fit into daily routines and help to keep new and loyal followers motivated and on-track.

The Solution

“Alexa, help me get fit”.  The Body Coach Voice app, first launched exclusively on Amazon Alexa, helps users build and keep up their fitness habits. The Voice app offers 7 x 15-minute, full-body HIIT workouts with Joe that help users get fit and burn fat.  Each workout is progressive, so if you are new to high-intensity interval training (HIIT), start with workout 1 and work your way up. The workouts are in real-time, so you can train together with Joe and follow his instructions.

Optimised for the Echo Show,The Body Coach was one of the first Alexa skills’ to integrate video and real voice-over recordings from Joe himself.

The Results

• 4.8 star rating on Alexa Skill Store with thousands of users a week.
• Established clear category ownership - now triggered as native response when users say “Alexa, help me get fit”.
• Supported and promoted by Amazon including regular Alexa marketing features and on-pack Echo device messaging.
• Also available on Google Assistant.
